Hello delegates! My name is Mikaela De Smedt, and I have the pleasure of being your chair for the weekend. Some facts about me: I’m a second-year student of political science at Leiden University in the Hague, Netherlands, I do boxing, and I can clap with one hand!
Our committee topic: Free Trade Agreements in Times of COVID-19 is just as uncertain as it is exciting. With the EU signing deals with China and MERCOSUR in 2020, showing that not even a global pandemic can stop the imminent forces of globalization. It is amazing for me to be able to revisit this along you all, as for many years I was a very passionate delegate myself.
